I began this painting by building the background in quite a few layers of color, and various techniques.  This painting was initially started as a beautiful northern lit sky, and dragonflies seemed to fit it well, flying up into the bright colorful sky.  The dragonflies are hand painted and are primarily in oranges, magenta, pinks to stand out on the colorful background.  I had so much fun creating this painting.  It is sealed with Kamar gloss, and YV resistant varnishes.  The finishe is rich and glossy (you can see the sheen in the video).
